Perhaps an Australian parallel- our wombats cant really hurt you unless you grab them, but they're tough bastards and a 243 is good medicine.
I don't know about UK badgers, but the ones here in the US are mean as hell, kinda like wolverines. http://www.msu.edu/~willso11/images/...res/badger.jpg

At close range #6 in a 12g should do the trick. That is...if you decide to wimp out and shoot it.

Why don't you just call the Game Warden and see if they'll catch it and relocate it.
I suppose all the hunting seasons are all closed every where ?
That thang kinda of reminds me of HERBERT so let it alone and too it's prolly fidd'in to lay babies.
Sneak up to the hole with a toe sack and catch it, might make a good pet someday.

umm please do not sneak up on a mama badger and try to catch it in a bag, that is a BAD idea. use a trap or somthing please if your going to try and catch it. i still say just shoot it.

Maybe we're made of sterner stuff over here in Aus, but that just looks like a fat stripy little fox- really don't get what the fuss is about. Unless you mess with its hole I really couldnt see that thing having a go at a person.
