In my opinion no "anti" should even come to such a forum. I enjoy the pics, good ballistic info. Anyway, a good example of the "red mist", google Barnes Varmint Grenade. Neat videos.

I would really like to see those varmint grenades in action. I can't load them in my .223 because I have a 1:7 twist rate and think they not stabilize properly. I did notice they make them for the .204 Ruger though so I may have to try them.
I did use the 75gr sierra blitz kings out of my 25-06 on prarie dogs and had some great results. They looked alot like the above pics. I couldn't stop laughing while watching through the spotting scope while friends were shooting.

i have shot 36 gr. varment grenades from my .223 WSSM at 4560 fps, yes that is correct i cronographed, hit a tree rat in the pooper and didn't find anything but a red spatter...

If tou can find a few 50gn hollow points to put through your 22/250, you might come pretty close.

Have you ever tried those taipan 50 gn HP rob?they smoke rabbits.but can be hard to get hold of.Malcolm bone doesnt make them until there is a demand for them.

I used to use tiapans exclusivley in my .223 for 'roos and loved them, not many rabbits up my way, but I sure 'misted' my share of 'roo heads. (by the way I only opened this thread cause of the 'graphic images' warning, and I'm glad I did)

at 4000 fps. my choice for pure damage is the 55 gr. .243

You do know rabbits are feral in Australia? I always eat mine, but down there they are like p-dogs here i believe

Well sell33, If the DNR say any animal is feral, I believe its ok, but I would still supplement my larder. I try to make use of everything I shoot, even use my targets to start fires and recycle my rimfire brass. Thanks for the Aussie info.
