AK-47 Bullpup

I'm helping a friend convert his WASR-10 into bullpup configuration and in looking around the net for the stock, I saw that almost everyone lists the stock "for stamped receiver" upwards of $300. Then Centerfire Systems listed theirs for $170 and say "Includes all necessary hardware for conversion of AKs with a stamped receiver". My question is, has anyone tried this stock on a stamped AK variant? I'd really like to get it and it work and me not having to send it back, so any feedback is appreciated. I have not seen or used one, but I have purchased from Centerfire before and I liked what I got.

^ OOOOHHHHHH Mama mia! Check out that FN FS2000! And of course can't leave out the AUG....man I I'd love to have the income that allows that....anyway. I'm just wanting to make extra sure since I will be helping my buddy with his since he isn't the most mechanically inclined person around. I actually won't be using all of the stock. The entire fore grip and the gas tube will not be going on. Going to put a rail gas tube that has set screws and put a red dot on that, and then one of those clamp on tri-rails where the fore grip is and put a vertical grip there. Gonna be expensive, but man o man will it look good! I think it'd be pretty comfy to.

Well considering I'll also be getting him set up with $250 of other stuff to go on it, buying a completely different one is out of the question. My buddy can't afford it.

This is a compilation of what I'm gonna try to get for my buddy. Scale is off obviously as its 5 pictures put together. But you get the idea.

ive seen these sell for so cheep on like gun broker! sell the other ak and buy bulpup and save ALOT of green

I agree. you could get at least 300 for the old AK, and pick up a new bullpup for less than 500. The gun store I work at has romanian bullpups for $499. How ever prices are higher here so you could probably find a better deal. Buy a new gun and get factory warrenty.

The bullpup stock we'll be buying costs $170 before shipping. His is a Romanian with polymer furniture and a folding stock. While he probably could save maybe $40, it wouldn't be worth the trouble to list it and risk not getting what we need from it and then have to send it to the FFL and all that. His AK is in really good condition and I don't want to chance getting one with a canted sight. So, I'm just going to get my friend the stock and we'll put everything together ourselves. Or probably I'll put it on the first time so he can learn.

lol I'll be sure to get pics if I can remember! As for how long, it depends on my friend's budget. He's looking forward to the change and I think will be ordering the stock, clamp on rail, and fore grip within the next week or two. After that it may be a while before he gets up the money for the rest. He also wants an AR-15 and he may get that before he finishes with the AK.

I thought he was on a budget? AR-15 is pricy

He is on a budget. That's why he wants to go ahead and start saving for the AR-15 and have a whole nother working rifle rather than just improve the one he has. If it were me I'd just fix up the AK and forget about the AR-15, but he's dead set on that rifle. So, it'll take him a few months at least to save up for the AR-15 and then a month or so after that to get enough to finish with this bullpup.

Well I put my friend's bullpup together this weekend. That kit doesn't come with directions...it was annoying. I did look up directions though and they helped a lot, but still weren't that great. I managed to get it mostly put together. Didn't bother with the sights as the rear sight has to have a hole threaded and neither of us had the stuff to do that with. He will have a red dot on there eventually so I don't think he'll need them. Next time I'm over there I can tap them if he wants to. So, I also dremmaled the pistol grip out a little in the back to aid in changing mags because the mag hits the pistol grip a bit when you're changing. Also, I had to kick myself when I got over there and looked at his AK. It came with a side rail on it and I NEVER NOTICED IT BEFORE. I felt so dumb. It's a permanent one rather than one that screws in, so taking it off wasn't an option. But that didn't affect the kit much at all. We just left the side panel that goes there off.

As you can see it has the tri rail and a vertical foregrip. Works REALLY well and feels GREAT! The sling also works well. It's the right length that it fits on the back well and can be slid around and shouldered and still not be tight. One thing that was bothering me is the bullpup stock. It doesn't meet the bottom of the receiver. I'm not sure if that's an issue with the receiver or the stock isn't the right angle, but what it looked like was the receiver under the trigger pin formed a hump on the bottom. Tell me if I did something wrong with it! lol Any feedback is appreciated!
