Please reread what I said. Some of savages stocks are not free-floated enough in the tang area, which means that the action cannot reach the rear pillar when you tighten the rear action screw. Instead it tightens up against the tang, thus putting stress on the action and will cause inaccuracy.Since the rear action screw is not at the tang like a Remington is, you do not want it to touch the stock. This can be resolved by bedding the action and making sure the tang is floated, of if you do not want to bed it you can sand down that area until it is floated.
