I wouldnt mess with a badger. They are a lot tougher than a fox on roids.Shit even lassie would think twice about tackling any more badgers. From what ive seen of honey badgers if there bigger cousin has anywhere near as much gumption they are one very tough critter.

I just found a video that is a little sad.The badger is out numbered and i was hoping he got away. But then im not familiar with what sort of a animal they are or if they are a pest. One thing ill say, that little bugger is one tuff SOB.Ive seen foxes taken by one dog.

I'll bet I could do that too. Show me to it and I'll slip him into a paper bag.
But if ye want to to it try 00 buck in a shotgun.

40 years ago I was with my grandfather(cheif of police in a town in Wis) when he got a call that there was a wounded Badger on the Hiway so we went out there and with both back legs not working (spinial injury?) he was trying to crawl with his front two to get us. Gramps shot him with a 32-20 revolver twice. Meanest thing I ever saw, If you want to hunt one, wear a suit of armor and carry #4 buckshot. Remember Grizzly bears back away from Badgers.

I like to keep my distance so any centerfire rifle should do it.

Get it stuffed and put it on the dinner table. The looks you would get would be worth more than the hide ever would.

Had an older lady call there was a badger on her front porch. The game warden with a few of us in tow went out to see what we could do. We all learned one thing. Bagers have no neck. They have little to no fear. They demand respect! The badger left but not before he made us get into our cars.

But seriously just get about a 50 yards away and take any rifle that you have in centerfire and just shoot it in the head. Make sure you can get up on something or in something in case you miss or injure it and it comes after you.

This thread cracks me up, esp squirellshooter lol

True story

a child hood friend of mine moved kind of out in the sticks from the city, and their parents made us help clear some brush in the back yard once. A badger was near, didn't like that and charged at my friend. Bit his arm and attacked him, but he was close enough to his home to toss the badger off and run inside. It chased him the whole way.

next day it was hunted and killed, end of story. He was like 14 at the time

That sounds like a really good plan. 243 will work fine. I would also fill the hole to make sure there are no more of them, but take a shotgun with at least #4 shot in it
