This is proper operation. The battle sight is probably set for a 300m zero. The rifle will shoot high at 100 yards. If the rifle was sighted for the 196 grain bullet and you are shooting 150s, it will shoot way high. You can replace the front sight with a higher one to bring the point of impact down.

You could use trigonometry to figure out what sight height you need.

Just remember, if you change ammunition, your point of impact will change.
