Hmm well i am officially broke right now, but once out of school i plan on investing in a lifetime membership....unfortunately it will be awhile until that happens. But i must say the NRA is the best hope for gun owners in this country.

4 million multiplied by 25 dollars per a year....Hmm, who are these people that run the NRA? I have never given money to anyone blindly, and nor will I, with the exception of taxes because I am forced to. |

That is how I feel about all groups, and is why I don't like tossing money in them. Otherwise they are just using you to get money. Government employees, people in the private sector, and even non for profit organizations abuse the money they have available to them. People charge stuff to their cards and write it off as a business expense all the time, and in fact it should not be a business expense. I don't want to pay for that, and I won't. The NRA seems to me, like a media machine and nothing else. however, by all means please correct me if I am wrong. I also don't think their media machine costs them what they take in each year either. | |

My son and I are life members. It's not that expensive. They do good work in terms of firearms education and safety, and in terms of preserving the RKBA. They are probably one of the strongest political forces in the nation, and they represent me. Yes, they're not perfect, and I could do without some of the junk mail (I don't have to open it or read it if I don't want to). But no one is perfect and I, believe it or not, sometimes disagree with people whose opinions I otherwise very much value (just ask my wife !). They also have group discounts, and an interesting website with good information. I'd get off a buck and join. The magazines alone for me will more than recoup the cost of membership. Just my opinion.
