Kel Tec model 11 9mm

I'm looking at a used Kel Tec, hoping to find out if these are any good.
Nice light weight and compact 11 rd gun. Thanks for any comments, good and bad.

I have a P40 which was a .40 version of the P11 that Keltec no longer makes. If what you are looking for is a light, small, cheap gun it will serve the purpose. The recoil will be pretty snappy with the small gun and they really are not all that fun to shoot IMO. When you do shoot it make sure you do not limp-wrist it at all or it will have a FTF.

My friend just bought one last weekend after some people burglarized his house, truck, and his girlfriend's car. I took a look at it, seems like quite a sweet little 9MM. Pretty stiff action for sure, and the mag didn't want to come out when I thumbed the release, but I dunno if that's just because it was NIB and hadn't been fired yet. He's putting some rounds through it this weekend and I'll ask him what he thinks about it then. The price wasn't half bad either (I thought) at $285.

Yes, that would make sense with such a small frame pistol... is the FTF common in the .380/9mm/.40 when it's limp wristed?

Is it unmanageable with the excessive recoil?

Any time you limp wrist an semi-auto pistol you can expect problems but some pistols are more prone to problems then others are. The recoil isn't unmanageble for me. For some it might be, remember mine is a .40, a 9mm will have less recoil.

That makes sense with an Semi-Auto, thankfully I have never LW'd it so I haven't had that problem :-). How does the recoil compare to a J-Frame with .357s?

The Kel-Tec shoots great. I like their pistols quite a bit. Their magazines take some breaking in.

Great, I thank each one of you for replying. I think it will be a short time till I make a purchase of one. The 40 would be nice if I were starting out and did not have and like the ol' .45acp. It may be abit strong for my girls to handle. Always good to read what others have to say.

I have had one for about 6 months(300 rds) with no FTF or FTE. Shoots on mark ot 10-15 yards, but some can do better with practice. It has a 8.5 lb trigger and DAO, so it takes getting used to. But for a nice American made 9mm with a life time warranty and easy to CC with you can't go wrong.

I can't speak to the recoil compared to .357 in a j frame but I have a .38 Taurus "J frame" it is about the same but then I am shooting the .40 so like I said the 9mm will be less.
