| Any advice would be appreciated. Hello Everyone, I was wondering if you guys would be able to lend your opinions on this. I went to a local gun show yesterday, (Frederick, Maryland), and was interested in acquiring a Cetme, FAL, or whatever seemed good for the money. I came across two Cetme's, one a Hesse Cetme going for $700, and the other was for $750 (but came with 5 mags and 2 ammo pouches). I saw that and was like, hmm, so much for the cheaper range... Another dealer had a PTR-91 for $1100, brand new. So my question is, would it be better to go for a PTR-91, being *perhaps* better quality or should I do some serious shopping at online brokers. I've noticed on gunbroker that the guns go for around 500-750ish (more or less) range. Anyhow, any advice would be appreciated. Thanks. |

| thats price seems high to me..I am new to cetme(bought mine in January)but only paid 450$ for mine....Don't get to excited about getting a lot of mags for it...You can buy mags for 3-4 dollars and 2 pack mag carriers for 1$..You can also buy slings for 5$, and wood stock sets for 15$..I'd look around....but like I said I'm new to cetme...other guys on here are more experienced, wait for their reply.. |

| I agree with Jim433, the mags were dirt cheap, should be easy to obtain at a min. cost. the prices of these Cetme's are higher than I thought they would go... you may come across one that's lower in cost, I know back in Jan. and March I saw a guy with 5-6 Cetme's with a range of $475 to 650. Keep a look out on the gun broker and other auction sites. You might check the other gun forums too, I saw one going rather cheaply due to money needs. I will post anything I find, I hope you find one and I hope you don't have to pay too much Last edited by LakerDad; 04-07-2008 at 08:33 PM. Reason: spelling stuff |

| Senior Member | I paid 650 for mine, but mine looked new. Of course it wasn't completely new but it did have a new upgraded barrel and parts of the receiver were new as well, the furniture also new. Cetmes are jumping in price because they are not made anymore, and the deals for 400 or what ever are gone. If you come across such a deal then jump on it. As far as holding out for the PTr 91 go for it. Alot of Ptrs are being built better than g3'S. A ptr is a fine tuned and fully upgraded Cetme, and if qualty for the money is what you want then save up for it. If nostalgia is your thing go for the Cetme. I do not regret my centme purchase its a great rifle, but when I bought it I knew nothing about the platform other than I liked it. I am going to purchase a ptr before elections. So I will have both. Also welcome to Gun and Game this is a very freindly site and feel free to visit the whole forum. The humor page is awsome |

| I aquired mine early this year as well. Got it locally from a lucky hit on the internet. Paid 450 for the Cetme, five steel mags with old springs, it had the H&K stock and foregaurd(squared one with bipod mount NO BIPOD) and the wood stock set, the hensoldt scope mount, and a hard padded case. I got lucky but with as many people that whine about these guns and there "problems" you're bound to find someone that has given up. Just remember you can upgrade this rifle in any way for a price. so do some research and know what you want first. know what to look for. know what your gettiing into. I chose the spanish lady for the price, the .308 round , and the rep of the rifle in the real world application, and to be different from my buddies.(M4 and AK guys)![]() ![]() That said I've put about the cost I've paid for it into it with ammo, green dot sight, tons of the CHeaper than d 3.00 mags, a paddle mag release, a callapsable stock(m4 style)and whatever else I want. I love my rifle, their are many like it but this ones more bad ass, and mine. |

| Hey Enscribe, how'd the installation of that paddle-release go? I'm guessing you had to drill and/or grind away the block they have there? Also, I started a group for CETME owners a while back: Gun and Game Forums - CETME Owners

| First off MrTurtle654, let me welcome you to the G&G forum. The other thing I'd say, go here, GunBroker.com Online Gun Auction and search for what you're wanting. You just might find a great deal. There are a couple other sites, but I've found this one to be the best of them. Good luck...
