Is there such thing as a "Nickel Receivered" 1903?

Right after Pearl Harbor, 1903 Remingtons were made with Nickel steel receivers when wartime production fired up...

I was thinking nickle steel was used in 1903 production somewhat earlier, 1920's, but I'm probably wrong.

Depends on what you mean Swedesteve. There was nickel added to the steel just after WW1, but it looks like every other steel on the outside. Do you mean looking silver, like chrome? None were done that way by the arsenals, but some may have been done individually for drill, parade. or presentations.

I have heard of nickel steel. It was in the steel.

A nickled receiver would likely be a drill or parade rifle. Shiny and chrome looking.
