Magazines

I just got back from Big5. I bought my first Enfield! I have searched this forum and I haven't found an answer to my question yet. Has anyone used these magazines for their enfield? Enfield No. 1 Mk Iii 10-Rd. Mags, Blued, Magazines & Clips, After-Market Mags at Sportsman's Guide

I got a No4 Mk1 which the ad says it will work with. I am just curious to anyone elses experience with these.

Thumbs up

First I have seen them - but for that price I might try a couple too! They look odd with the squared-off box instead of rounded, but if they work, that isn't a problem!

I think the squared off box mught give a little more modern look. On the box of truth they refinished one in matte olive drab. Receiver reminds me of an m14. I think it would great with a sharp shaped box.

Let me say this. As long as you have your receipt, and if they don;t fit, they should or usually take them back unless you damaged them. If they don;t fit, just tell them they don't fit.

I bought a laser boresighter from them. I had it for 4 years and found it wasn't centered and I for the life of me couldn't get it to center. I told them about the problem, all they asked/said was as long as I had my receipt I could return it for another one or a credit, which I gladly did...

I've been a member for about 7 or 8 years. I like them others do as well while others don't don't.

In clicking on your link, it says it's for a Enfield in No.1 Mk.III in .303 caliber and will also work on No. 4 Mk.I in same caliber. So if yours is either one, I don't see why it wouldn't work? Good luck..

I did get one. I was just doing the pics when I saw this post. I tried the replacement mag in a No.1 Mk III*. a No.4 Mk 1 sporter and an Ishapore.
It was very tight in the No.4 had to use a hammer to get it out. But this rifle is tight anyway.
Fit very well in the No.1. The mag was a lil tight but its new.
Did not fit in the Ishapore at all.

Always have to have pics ya know.
So I guess I am going to go buy more. Two thumbs up.

I have found that these and any others that are "supposed" to fit...DON'T. Usually takes a lot of time and skill with a Small Ball Peen Hammer and a Dremel Tool to get them to fit right. Just go with the OEM mags and all is well with the world. Tapco, Centerfire Systems always have these mags for a good price.

You wouldn't have a direct link for either sites would you? I just went to both and did not see anything. Thank you!

Try Some of the other big houses-SOG, Sarco, Paragon. Or do a "Google" for Lee-Enfield mags on the net. Enfield stuff is starting to get somewhat hard to find and getting expensive too. Was ata a show in Franklin TN a couple of months ago and i thought i would never see a Enfield with a price tag of $350.00 on it and it was not in the best of shape.

I've seen them at gun shows around Atlanta priced at $350. I can get mine from J&G Sales for $119. Last one I restored to a real beauty Fazakery #4. When I got it C&R it wasn't in best of looks.

watch out for J and G sales, they have been known to do the "Bait and Switch", on advertised items in their catalog in the past.

Try 2 places in Rapid City South Dakota, they will be

1. Jack First Gunshop, Jack has the best parts inventory I have ever seen, he is a good guy also and his gunsmiths are top notch.

2. First Stop Guns, 7th and Main, Mark, Mike have a lot of parts there also.

If these guys cannot find what you want, it can't be found. Oh to be in SD, the land of FANTASTIC GUNSHOPS!!! I miss it every day!!!

Enfield mag results.
So like I said they work JUST FINE in the No1.
But not so good in the No4.
And not at all in the Ishipore.
