| Senior Member | I admit it . . . as they say in certain movies and television shows I AM LIKE WAY JEALOUS. Seriously, although in Texas I do wish all you turkey hunters the best of luck and hope perhaps someday I might hunt in your area. Great shooting and hope you bag a good turkey. |

| Senior Member ![]() | nathangdad if you ever decide to take up Turkey hunting make sure you have something comfortable to sit on. The first time I went was with my step father and I took a camo colored OLD old firm boat seat to sit on. Just right at day light we heard 2 turkeys gobble with one not being very far from where we were standing. We walked maybe 50 yards and hurriedly set up our blinds. After about 2 hours of my step father calling my tail bone was begining to hurt from that old boat seat. And I was dieing for a cigarett ! But I sat there and between 9 and 9:30 here comes 2 turkeys which turned out to be 2 hens. Those 2 hen turkeys hung around until about 11 When I stood up on my gosh I was in pain !!! My tail bone hurt so bad I couldn't stand up right and on top of that my step father got mad because I got up LOL and lit a cigerett. He wasn't ready to leave and he got up and took off to another location and I went home ! I hurt for 2 weeks from sitting on that boat seat so long and I never went back Turkey hunting until last year. I recomend memory foam to sit on. |

My pack also has a strutters fold out seat. Lot's of bug spray and poisen ivy cream. Special clothes detergent so the turkeys can't see the phosphates in your camos. My first turkey cost $789! I hope to get him this season. But the feeling of being out there , "Priceless". Oh yeah if you're not planning on being in your unders while you hunt you might want to add camo pants and shirt. And not just any shotgun, it's got to be a camo turkey shotgun. ![]()

| Super Moderator ![]() ![]() | Thanks Pistolwhip. I had planned to take the decoy but failed to add it to my list. Good idea on adding a couple of power bars, too. Compass I don't need since I know this area from hunting there many times before. Heavy boots I always use and I've just re-waterproofed them just the other evening. It never hurts to overplan these hunts...and have others look over the list. Leaving something behind could ruin the hunt in some cases. Oh yes, I'll be taking my binoculars, too.
