Welcome to the Forum!
You will need to get rid of all else in your life as you will soon be totally absorbed here with no time for anything else! A symptom of Mosinitis!

What I think was amusing was last time I went to the range, I brought my 1911, my AK, and of course my M39. There were a couple guys who had brought their M44's who kept looking at me with the envious "does he even know what he has!?" look. Finally got to chatting with them during a cease-fire... then I went and took my target to the 200 yard mark for practicing with my Mosin. It was a challenge, considering I just don't have the heart to drill and tap that thing for a scope.

Hey guys nice to meet ya'll "New Guy" here -when it comes to Mosins' I'm a lil' bit of a noob, but I've got a 1915 New England Westinghouse. Can anyone give me the lowdown on it? Thanks!

NOPE! You can not do that! You can not come in here as a newbie sporting a 1915 Westinghouse! That is NOT allowed! Show up with a primo collectible. You must immediately purchase a 91/30 or M44 and start asking questions about how to clean it, how to take the bayonet off, scout scope mounts and what ammo you should use.

It is not fair to Embarrass and make us jealous by a newbie showing up with a 1915 Westinghouse.....how inconsiderate. ...:09 :

Seriously, Welcome to the site!!! Post some pics for us! That is quite a desirable rifle you have!!!

I'll get some up within the week, I had a corrupted hard drive 2 weeks ago so I've gotta re-load all my pics.
If it's any consolation I'm not a gun noob just a Mosin noob I just haven't pulled her out or messed with her since I got 'er.
(Oh yeah like a just car or a boat I refer to my firearms as female) .
My Father-In-Law gave her to me before my 1st tour in the Gulf and he died of cancer while I was deployed, so she's got sentimental value to me. I know the history and I do know that mine is sought after. Still got the Crest so I guess never issued though.(I just couldn't resist pretending I didn't know what I had!) He He He.
P.S. You guys really have a Great Forum, very friendly and inviting.

A 1915 Westinhouse... a 1915 Westinghouse? Well if you're gonna own just one, that's the one to own.

Welcome to the assylum.

Hi Steve, I just found this thread, and what a question for gun lovers! My favorite is a '43 Finn M-38, and I've got a coupla M-44's, and two 91-30's. But the finn is far and away my favorite!!!

I guess I have 5. Now I have to start asking questions about how to clean it, how to take the bayonet off, scout scope mounts and what ammo you should use.
Oh guess I already know most of that. But still like to learn more.

Yeah, I'm staring to get good at cleaning, refurbing stocks, and spot rust/reblueing repair. I've developed a permanent brownish-yellow spot that has a slight waft of Russian cosmolene.

Scotty, welcome to the thread! Or it may be thread bare! Been following your exploits and learned that your gunshop will be open soon! Congrats!

When you stock the shelves are you going to be including a selection of Military Surplus as Well? How about a web site? G&G member discount?

But then again the way this forum is is one of us had a gun shop the member discount would be +30%!
