i have that information in one of the three 500 page books of BATF regs but dont want to spend a couple of hours wading through them to find it.

You do not record any NON-C&R firearms in your C&R book. You don't record any C&R firearms that you had before you got your C&R unless you dispose of them while you have your C&R. You DO record ALL C&R firearms that you acquire while you have the C&R regardless of whether you use your license or not.
