Badgers are born into this world with a bad temper and they just get meaner as they age. They are fearless, relentless and powerful predators. Hey Moose I don't know how much truth there is it this, but if true might explain the extra intense bad temper of the Male badger at least!
Many years ago I had a friend who worked for the Utah Fish and Game as a warden and he explained to me that the reason for the males being excessively foul tempered during their breeding season was that when the female went into heat they released a quite powerful phermone in their musk causing any males within a few miles to become perpetually aroused (sporting a woody if you will). Well now as low slung as these critters are built you can just visualize what kind of (Ahem) abuse their "Outfit" is taking while they search out those females . All I can say is better him than me LOL!!!

LOL will they eat pocket gophers? becouse we have alot of those evry now in then we go out there with a my sisters boyfriends 4 wheeler and smoke them 2 death do you think that "freddy" would eat them? but we dont want him burrowing right in our alfalfa feild and tarin it all up and that would be bad.

Them darned pocket gophers can make a heck of a mess in a field or pasture and they pose a risk to stock breaking legs from stepping in their burrows, they dig fast but a Badger digs faster. But to be honest I'd rather leave them gophers to the owls and foxes and encourage that badger to find a new home out of the alfalfa!

man cant you guys let something live go take it out on some rabbits or pigeons or whatever. That thing is cool, I understand you dont want it around have you tried calling someone to have it humanly trapped? At least ry doing something to let it live instead of destroying it. After all animals like these are disapearing quikly. Sorry dont mean to sound like a lefty but damn not everything needs to die.

Badgers are killing machines and they kill and eat constantly and will regulate pests like rabbits and rats and snakes and what not. They are also mean and aggressive, and have been known to attack humans. They can also burrow a lot faster than most animals as well. So, they can really tear up your land.

I personally would feel safer killing it, rather than trying to trap it and relocate it because I would not want to risk my life trapping it. Then again I am also not an experienced trapper or wild animal handler.

Maybe, animal control can relocate it?

you sound like me with spiders. I have been attacked while sleeping by several pretty venomous spiders and luckily never got it too bad, though I do have a few permanent scars from it.

So, now I kill all spiders that are inside my home, outside is fine, but once they trespass they get executed.

Badgers are nasty little critters if you get them riled up and on the defensive...just like a wolverine.

Heck, I figure with a good head shot you could put it to rest with a .22, or whatever else is handy at the time of need.

Badgers around here are wary of people and take cover long before you get close to them, so we rarely see many.
