| Senior Member | Thanks for all of your feedback about the 20 gauge being too big. I went to my local walmart and they have 2 Mossberg 500's in 20 gauge for 200.09. One has a youth barrel (22"). I could save up and by that, but I found some low recoil 12 gauge ammo to. It is called winlite from winchester. My dad has a Winchester super x 1, semi-automatic. Its about 10 years old but still shooting good. That ammo has half the recoil than other 12 gauge ammo, so ill just shoot it. Here is a link to the ammo, tell me what you think,thanks,nc.hunter. Winchester WinLite Low Recoil Target Loads WL12FL8, 12 Gauge, 2 3/4", 26 grams, 980 fps, #8 Lead Sho

| Senior Member | Ive found that the reduced recoil loads (the bird shot) that are offered for the 12ga are fine for target of clay games but if you plan to use the gun for much hunting I would simply suggest that you purchase the 20ga.

| Senior Member | Be careful, because reduced recoil rounds may not cycle in a semi-automatic. But in all honesty, you have nothing to fear shooting a standard trap load out of a gas operated gun such as the Winchester Super X. |
