| Senior Member | Quite a few I believe, the old "Buntline" is the first one to spring to mind, that and the"Bolo"Mauser. I also had a stock for my Colt govt .45. Last edited by wunhunglo; 04-15-2008 at 11:52 AM. |

| Senior Member | Do you have any links? I got to thinking about it when cleaning my HP 995, noticing how easy it is to remove the stock and how simple it should be to make a removable barrel (threaded, or possibly with separate holding screw like on a shotgun). Figured that would be handy to have around. Carry it as a pistol and when you need to, spend a couple minutes swapping the stock and barrel and now you have a rifle! *edit* Oh, thanks for those links! | Senior Member | Somebody offers a complete carbine kit for .45 1911's, but I can't recall the name of it. Basically, you take any stock 1911, remove the slide assembly, and put this kit on the 1911 frame. Not my cup of tea, but I've heard good things about the quality and function of them. No mods necessary to the pistol, and it can be converted back to a pistol in a couple of minutes. I think this is it....Mech Tech Systems, Inc.

At $300, darn pricey, I think. Better off with a Marlin Camp .45. | |

| Senior Member | Perfect for knocking the cats off your garbage cans, huh? There's something about a suppressed .45 carbine I find oddly attractive.....Don't know why, or what I'd do with it, I just want one.
