I've owned a Hi Point 9mm carbine...it was EXCELLENT!! VERY accurate and a lot of fun to shoot. The ONLY downside is the low capacity. 10 shots sux.

Thank God for the Calico Liberty 9mm hehehe

Here's mine! Its a great shooter with the peep sights, probably will update to a scope but what a nice inexpensive accurate carbine. I highly recommend the ATI stock as it makes the carbine much more user friendly....

Here's a forum for Hi Point owners, seems like everyone who's actually bought one likes them, customer service gets bragged on.

Hi-Point Firearms Forums :: Index

I guess $150 isn't much of a risk for a big heavy ugly gun that goes bang when you pull the trigger. If you want a gun that you can abuse and not freak out over if it's dinged or scratched or stolen when you toss it in a tackle box or leave in the trunk of your car, they make sense.

I'm loving that ATI stock...how much are they? Looks a heck of a lot better than the original!!

Scopes and Carbines...Yes, Iron sight works great as far as it shoots, but scopes are for Shot Placement...in other words, putting that round EXACTLY where you want it to go. At 50 yards most folks can take almost any 9mm carbine and shoot a bad guy in the head without any problem. However, if you need to place a precise shot...say the gun hand of a weapon wielding buttmunch at 50-100 yards, you use a scope. Or if you prefer to place your shots exactly between his eyes...or monobrow...hehehe!

Are there any aftermarket dealers that have a 15 shot or higher magazine for Hi Point 9mm yet??

The Ati's will run you any where from $50 to $75(one on eBay now for $55 + $10 Ship) and yes there are some after market 15 rd mags, but beware, usually all are jam-a-matics (Pro Mags). They say you can tweak the feed lips and get them to work. I have had limited success. I have got one to work pretty well, but is far from reliable. Something new may be about there that I do not know yet Just gotta keep looking..Good luck

ATI stocks are NOT recommended by the factory. Apparently they transmit too much shock to the receiver or springs and wear the weapon out prematurely. I have a stock 9 mm carbine and don't see any reason to change.

The HiPoint forum has extensive articles and reports from the factory reps about this problem. Beauty is only skin deep.

i had the .9mm cargine and just the stock-stock has enough pounding for a .9mm i don't think anyother stock would make it stress the parts any further than that.i swear that little gun popped like a .410 so does my.9mm kel-tec carbine it's the same way it has some recoil to hut not as bad as the highpoint atleast i think it's been a while sinse i shot it or a highpoint.

shot my friend's 995 with the ATI stock yesterday. I sighted in his redot scope. It was a dream and very accurate. Didn't malfunction or anything.

I own a C9 Hi Point 9mm pistol and a 995 9mm carbine and both shoot great. I have never had to use the great warranty service. The only complaint I have is the 10 shot clip for the carbine. Needs a 15-20 shot clip and the aftermarket stuff is garbage. If you haven't owned one, don't dis em.

Hi-Point 995

I got a 995 thru strange circumstances, it ended up costing me $14.73
Ive had it for 3 years and havent had any problems with it, its handy when we go out on the tundra picking burries with the Kid's in the fall we take it along as we sometimes have Rabid Fox in these parts, Ive shot hollow point and FMJ and lead thru without a hitch.
I dont know anything about the pistols, but the carbine shoots just fine, The first winter we had it a buddy & I went out shooting "buddy had a Mosen model 38", 1969 .22 Lr, CZ straight pull.22Lr,
I had the 995 and a couple others, day was blowing snow & -17F out the Northeast we paced off from 50 to 300 paces on the wind packed snow here in Kotzebue,
Ronnie "buddy" started off with the Mosen and choked "crappy trigger pull amungst other stuff" off the back of his Arctic Cat seat, He couldent scratch a Antifreeze jug at 300 paces.
The 995 drill'd the jug no problem, had to hold over a bit but not as bad as you would think
"we were shooting with the wind" Ronnie had problems with his 1969 .22 wouldent feed, and the CZ straight pull bolt came out the 3rd shot right out of the action,
My 10/22 shot just fine with slow bolt function had to nudge the bolt into battery with my thumb, the Chinese Mosen sot spot on
and the tarus DA .22mag was sweet!
All these firearms were transported out of town on snowmobile so were cold soaked by the time we got ready to shoot
the Plastic 995 held up ok but wouldent take much beating to break somthing off.

it's been a while sinse i had my carbine but i was thinkinwould it be possible to drill a small hole in the rear of the stock and fill it with that expanding foam in a can??it would make it more solid and might help otu on the recoil too.

Foam a dab will do ya

I think if you are looking for somthing a little more sturdy the ATI stock is a fine choice "expensive" i like the bigger trigger guard opening!
If on a tight budget & you want to firm up the one you have Foam may work but it will swell out in places were you might not like it to.
It is very messy to clean up, so let it dry first before doing any scrapeing the thing clean.

Talking Add another C9 fan to the tally

I could have bought the Taurus, but instead I bought a Hi-Point C9 for $119.00. 310 rounds later I've had two rounds misfeed - both were last in the mag and nosed up. Aside from that, cheap reloads, +P defensive ammo, WWB, cheap Remington, it feeds, fires, and ejects 'em all.

Now I'm trying to decide if I want another C9 for friends to use at the range, maybe a C9 COMP, or a .40 carbine...

BTW - even NRAJOE's a Hi-Point fan now !
