| Senior Member | New used 700 BDL Ok Guys, I have been talking with a Foreman on a project I oversee and he stated that he was a hunter. We got to talking about guns and how I was always looking for a new one to add to my collection. He said that he had a Remington 700BDL that had been sitting in his closet for the better part of 10 years. I asked him what caliber it was in and he said it was .338WM. He then proceeded to show me the nasty scar that he had above his right eye and told me that was the reason the rifle sat in the closet. I asked him if he wanted to sell it and he said he would glady get rid of it. I asked if he could bring it in and I would look at it and see if I was interested in buying it or not. So today he shows up and pulls it out of the case and I was in shock. The gun appears to be in about 98% and the barrel looks great. He said that he oiled it once a year or so. I asked him how much and was not ready for what he said next. He said he would take $250.00 for it since he didn't shoot it and it was sitting in his closet for so long. I went straight to the bank and came back and gave him the cash. Now I just have to figure out if I will keep it and shoot it or keep the action and rechamber it for something else. Oh well first thing is first I will put a scope on it and shoot it and go from there. |

| Super Moderator ![]() | That is a BDL and looks like an early one at that...In Alaska, that gun would go for 400 to 475 easy...Good Score !!! for 250.00 ! Rich

| Senior Member | Don't climb up the stock and have a scope with decent eye relief and you'll be fine when you pull the trigger. That sure looks like it is in excellent condition, the price was terrific as well. I personaly don't care much for remingtons but I would have made that buy in a heartbeat. If you choose not to keep it I am sure you can make a few bucks or work a nice trade with it. Good score ! |

| Senior Member | Thanks guys. I will mount the scope on it sometime this week and take it out maybe this weekend and see how it shoots. There is no free float on this rifle but i'm sure it will do ok in the grouping department as long as I can do my part. I'll try to post a few pictures if I can get a decent group. |
