The Dream Rifle

All of us seem to have a rifle that we stare at and really want to get. Often our wallets and spouses don't look at it the same way. For you, what is the 1 you're staring at? For me it is a Ruger No. 1 in 405 Winchester, it is a beautiful rifle in a classic, highly versatile caliber that appears to be picking up some steam on it's 2nd time around.

A Sako model 85 in .338 Fed. And if I was to find a Ruger #1 in 45/70 I might have to have it come live at my house as well. I do like the idea of the standard low powered rounds for deer and the hotter ones avaiable now from 4 or 5 companies for elk and moose. I'd mount either with a 1-6x24 Swarovski Z6 with German #4 reticle.

a model73 winchester with 30" barrel and in 44-40. But I am probably going to have to settle for a repo, maybe in a cimmaron.

I've had squirrels charge, it takes a 416 minimum to stop them, a 22 LR has the kind of knockdown power you really need for these though.

Anzio Iron Works 20mm semi-auto with suppressor

Barrett 50BMG semi-auto with suppressor

M-60 belt fed machinegun - shoot it just like the SEALs do - like a rifle !

Don't know if these count, but I'd also like a GAU-8 Avenger with the A-10 wrapped around it and an M-61 Vulcan cannon with the Tomcat wrapped around it, too It's just too bad the Feds won't let me have these even if I could afford them.

I have always wanted a Holland & Holland double. But i wont afford one in this life time. A more realistic dream rifle is a Kimber Caprivi in .458 Lott
