is this a good deal? Current Sales - Gander Mountain? > We Live Outdoors - Hunting, Fishing, Camping, Outdoor Recreation, Apparel & Footwear, Gunsmithing if so which one is better the 9mm or the 40

Those Sigmas normally go for around $350. With the $50 rebate, and 2 (EXTRA) free hi-cap mags...it's definitely worth it. I don’t own one yet, (but thanks to you posting an ad from THE gun store just down the road from my house…) I will pick one up before the sale/rebate/magazine offer ends. I’ve heard nothing but good things about the Sigma. They appear to be the “poor man’s Glock”, except for the fact that they actually shoot.

As far as which one… I would prefer the 40 just because I have more confidence in that round, but I would probably choose the 9mm because it would be cheaper to shoot (which would cause me to shoot more…which would increase my accuracy).

My dad bought his sigma at Gander Mt. Make sure you dry fire it before buying it because their triggers are stiff (and thats the nicest way i can put it). My dad likes his though so everyone has different opinions. He got the 9mm. Can't beat it for the price w/ rebate and a total of 4mags. He let a guy borrow it during his CCW class and he was using Wolf ammo and it didnt like it that much, and it dirtied it up real bad too.

i personally dont like the sigma, shot one a bit back just wasnt special for me, but they are good guns, id get one

That is about the going price after the mail-in rebate. I got mine for that price last February when they were not running any mail-in rebates. They are good guns, but they do have a heavy trigger pull. I have the 9mm and have put around 2,000 rounds though mine with out a single problem. I have heard that some gunsmiths can help lighten the trigger pull on them. I think after all the rounds I have put through mine that either it has gotten lighter or I am just use to it by now.

If I had it to do all over again, I would save up a little more and get one from the S&W M&P series.
