Anyone ever heard of a .31 snake eyes derringer?

It's made by CMC. It's solid brass with two hammers and one trigger. Anyone heard of CMC? What's it worth? Thanks.

I remember them, they were not very much new, and used to sell at shop ko and walmart kmart and places like that when they sold gun stuff. They also had a duckfoot where there was 3 barrels that went in a y shape it was for riots aboard the old sailing ships(a repo) these things are in the 50 to 75 dollar range if in good shape, I would think, check with someone into black powder.

Did you ever shoot yours? I mic'ed the barrels and found that they were .357 so it's a .36 caliber instead of a .31. I ordered some balls for it and am going to try it out when they arrive. I won't load it very heavy, but I'll be it will put out a ball at good speed.

I remember buying one of these from Kmart back in 1984, they sold for 52.95 and were known as the "Snake-Eyes" derringer. They were made of brass the barrels are smoothbore.

I finally got the supplies to shoot it. Hmmmm. I popped a cap on each barrel, then loaded 15gr of FFF, a .36 ball and thin patch. Loaded the right barrel first. I had to fire three caps before it fired off. I had been able to see through the nipple while looking down the empty barrel before loading. It shot high due to the design. I tried again and lowered my aim. It went through the paper plate from about 10', one cap. I thought I'd try both barrels, then stopped to re consider. I loaded the right again, and cocked both hammers. The gun is supposed fire the right barrel on first pull and left barrel on second pull. I raised and fired and both hammers dropped. I tried loading the left barrel (right empty). I fired 3 or four caps with no ignition. My nipple wrench wouldn't fit these. I pulled the bullet, cleaned it well and put it uip on the shelf. Fun over.

Sounds like you need a nipple pick.

Possibly some time in past it was dry fired and the nipple is booger'd a bit
try a welding supply store they have a cutting torch nozzle cleaner that is a baby pin vice on on end and a hollow handle full of wire size drill bits these used to sell for $8ea try cleaning out those nipples and make shure the flash holes are the same size.
