| Senior Member | Tula SKS I have the opportunity to buy a Tula SKS for $150 In excelent condition from my father in law. Only problem is it stops ejecting the spent casings after about 7 rounds. Is this a good deal and can anyone tell me why it would stop ejecting? |

| Grumpy Old Fart ![]() | 1) It's a great buy! 2) Ejection problem can be caused by lots of things. Ammo, gas tube, ejector, etc etc etc!

| Senior Member | I just hope it is a valve that can be replaced. Or something easy. I did some reading and it sounds like it needs a good cleaning, it's that cosmoline again. The wifes dad said he has never taken it apart to clean it thoroughly. Last edited by Shuak; 04-18-2008 at 02:28 PM. |

| Senior Member | BUY IT NOW!!!! If I came upon that deal I'd sell the clothes off my back and walk out of there naked if I had to! And yes, you're most likely right about the cosmo. It really needs cleaning and it will probably work after that.

| Senior Member | YUGO SKS rifles are the only ones that have a valve. BUY IT give it a good cleaning paying special attention to the chamber it probably full of dried lacquer that become.s sticky as it gets hot causing hard extraction, scrub it out good and it will probably be fine. People tend to forget about cleaning the chamber in these guns. |

| Senior Member | Lucky you. Looking forward to the pics. In the meantime, what's the difference in a Tula SKS compared to say a NOrinco, Chinese or Yugo version? Thanks in advance.

Tula SKSs were made in Russia, they don't have grenade launchers, Tulas are harder to come by and from what I understand they are of a little better quality but that is debatable. | |

| Grumpy Old Fart ![]() | Both my Tula and my Chinese shoot/function just fine. I think the Tula is a little tighter and therefore a tad more accurate.

| One Buwwit Weft ![]() | I know the feeling.. I found a lami stocked Russian for a buddy of mine over 2 years ago, and had to listen to his non-stop "You don't have a Russian SKS" while I was shooting my Yugo.. A while back, a local shop got 2 Ruski's in, and I pointed Tex towards them. He bought the non-lami stocked one and made me buy the other. Like I said.. He's evil...
