| Colt 1911-1911A1 Howdy, New to Colt and this forum. What are the different series 70 & 80? I have 2 1911's, mfgd in 1918. One bubbaized and one I'll pick on Tuesday. What are the types to stay away from? There is a Colt MKIV series 80 Elite for $650.00. Is this a good price? Don't know the shape, but will find out. John Krzos |

| Super Moderator ![]() | The 1911's made in 1918 are Military Models, unless they have a C prefix on the serial Number, which means they are "Commercial and Not Military... The 70 series Colts are Commercial versions without the Firing pin safety system that was installed on the Later 80 series of pistols... 650.00 would be about right for a 95-98% condition series 80 Colt..
