feeding problem

I was shooting the other day and was having a lot of problems with the magazine feeding bullets correctly. I think that my mag springs are weak (the ones that I was using were new to me.) The bullets I was using look like they have arrows dented into the side of them. They get jammed in the between the bolt head and the reciever. half way into the chamber. Any advice.

Well if they're dented like they appear to be, that more than likely changed the brass from being round and now has a bulge on the brass. In looking at the pictures you posted, that's what it looks like. Obviously then it won't go into the chamber because it's now bigger in that spot then the chamber is...

uh?????? the problem is not that I'm a dangerous and idiotic shooter trying to feed disfigured ammo. The pictures are of the ammo that jammed. afterward. for reference. The problem is the jam. not the rounds in the pics. Hope that clears it up. Thanks.

Is you Cetme new? I had the same problem with mine untill I went through about 300 rounds. Is the ramp the bullets hit have any rough spots? Is it clean? My problem went away after the gun broke in.

Yea, clears it up a great deal. lmfao. The way you worded it is what did it. I mean had you said, after they jammed, there was this arrow shaped dent on them, see pictures. You saying what you did ( I changed the font color to red) through me a little I guess.

Sorry for the mix up, but the choice of wording did confuse me. I mean simply adding the words after they got jammed to the end of the sentence I changed to red in your quote above, would have made all the difference. lol

And to be completely honest, people do and try some very strange things now-a-days...

I had the exact same problem with my CETME shooting both South African and Wolf:

I determined it to be weak magazine springs and I now use only one magazine out of 13 that I have that I know has a good spring and will feed reliably. I really need to just get off my butt and call this guy with new mag springs for $0.75 each.

I just purchased 10 G3 aluminum mags, plus those two 30 round mags. I have number them to keep track. So far I've used four of the ten Alum. mags. Not one has functioned correctly but they seem to appear rather brand new. One of them wouldn't feed at all. I think I need to replace all my springs just to eliminate that as the source of the problem. I also have five steel mags one of which will feed all twenty flawlessly.

I also might have some bolt gap issue? I don't know, the info I can find on bolt gap is all confusing and contradictory. I think I need the plus two rollers. I'm contemplating taking to a smith and having him give it go over. I shoot with AR and AK guys and I can't have my lady fouling up in front of them. They definitly respect the power though.
Meatloaf my gun is not new but has about 2000 through her before I got it. (that's what the guy said, but upon inspecting the weapon It looked to be well maintained and in excellent shape, brand new.) plus the 350 rounds I've fed through. I have had a variety of things happen while shooting with different ammo. I need to find one and stick to it. I think I'll buy 500 rnds of WOLF cause it's cheap and see if I can get some consistency.

Enscribe, 8 of my mags are G3 aluminum, then I have two CETME steel 20rd and one 5rd, then two HK91 30rd aluminum mags to make up my 13.

Only one of the two steel 20 round mags functions flawlessly through all 20 rounds (haven't tried the 30 rounders yet).

You may want to disassembe your bolt and clean it oil and greese it and check it carefully.

I went shooting yesterday and had similiar results. I had many jams of the same sort all when shooting the last five rnds or so in the magazine. I bought a 30 rnd mag brand new and it fed flawlessly. I think this definitley means its my springs.

Again, exact same problem as I reported with my CETME. Last 5 rounds or so don't feed worth beans. I tested my theory by filling a 20 rounder, shooting 10, putting the firearm on safe, pulling the mag and filling it back up, then shooting through the rest. It fed flawlessly until the last three which it choked on. I was sure then that it was a weak spring.

Can you guys beleive that I saw a beat up cetme for just under 800 dollars? Holy cow the prices have gone up.
