| K-31 Stocks Hey guys looking into ordering a K-31 sometime next week, wondering where people got theirs and what stocks are the most desirable; beech, walnut, etc. The only place i can find that has them in stock is classic arms. think i'm gonna get the scope mount after a few months of practicing with irons... I guess I just wanna hear your thoughts? -twister |

| Senior Member | Desirable stocks? Hmm? The most desirable are the ones that do not have the 6" stain on the buttstock for the troops hold rifles in the snow. Mine is beech, birch, it's the light colored one. Spent plenty of time getting as much stain out as possible with out too much sanding. Also mine is candidate for a bedding job. Action could be tighter. She groups a consistant 3" at 100. I've seen on K-31 on a Classic Arms rifle match that scored 100-6x pnts (10 for 10) on 200 yard rapid fire string. Good luck bubba. Came from JG Sales

| Definitely go with the walnut, and classic arms folks are a pleasure to deal with. They ship very fast and stand behind their products. When you start looking for ammo check out dans ammo.com He has some very good gp-11 for less than .50 a round. Good luck and keep us posted |

| Ive heard many stories of K-31's shooting sub MOA...i guess it depends on the condition of the bore, the ammo and of course the shooter. I'm calling classic arms on monday to see if they still have any in stock. If not, ill look into JG...and thanks for the ammo tip, I'll check it out. I found ammo at aimsurplus, I'll link you, tell me if you think it would be alright for maximum 350yds shooting? AIM 7.5Swiss 7.5Swiss any of that decent? |

Norma makes the 7.5 swiss and it is supposed to be the best. But it is very expensive. GP-11 is great stuff. It is the original swiss ammo that was specifically designed for the k-31 so it is pretty much optimal, and should have no problems shooting 350yards at all. The gun and ammo is up to the job, you would just need to practice a bit to master it. | |

| Agreed. For what everyone here has paid for the 7.5, how are the prices I linked you, and would you reccomend those or the rounds on dansammo.com? |

| The ammo you linked and the ones on dansammo.com are the same exact stuff. Dan's is alittle cheaper though. Every cent helps imo. I will say I have gotten gp11 locally and it wasn't nearly as shiny and new looking as the stuff I got from Dans. They shipped fast and I didn't have any problems so Dans gets a thumbs up from me. |

| I like the walnut stock best just because of the color. Beech can be very nice. Whatever you get go easy on cleaning the stock.......if you have to clean it at all. I've had good luck scrubbing the stock with dishwashing liquid and a green kitchen pad. The K31 is a fine gun.........have fun. |
