Howa M1500

Thinking about the Howa M1500 Thumbhole Sporter in stainless/pepper configuration, 270 Winchester.
To be used on foxes, dogs, goats, pigs, roos, donkeys and maybe one camel... Medium to long range.
2 questions; 270 enough gun?
Anyone have a howa, are they as good as they sound?

270 is plenty and howa makes the weatherby vanguard if that means anything to ya

yeah I'd heard that, and buying howa means not having to pay for the weatherby name, plus they leave that large chunk off the rear of the bolt that is on the vanguard. cheers for your input.

That's a pretty nice looking rifle. Not a bad price @ $799. in the .270 you're looking at. Good luck.

Howas are a very nice gun to shoot for the price. i have 4 in my locker now and i won't bother with any other brand now. I'm a HOWA Convert.

Howa and weatherby are about the same price, I have heard good things about both, I just recently ordered a weatherby 30-06, but I reckon a .270 will do just fine. (I just had to have a .30)

I was curious as to whether you'd bought any of yours as barreled actions and stocked them yourself.....

all my howas are stock standard out of the box. all that has to happen to them is a little adjustment on the trigger to lighten it a bit and then shoot it in and then straignt out in the scrub.

No complaints about Howa, from me either. They are very good rifles for the money, and will drive tacks.
