10-22 trigger group

This is a cross post from 22 rimfire

am a lefty and just got a new lefty safety. I contacted Ruger and asked for disassembly procedures for the trigger group. and got the reply "we do not advise the trigger group be dissembled and do not have any procedures. I did not mention that I wanted to change the safety.
Having, in the past dissembled items and had difficulty putting them back together I thought I would get more cooperation from Ruger.
I suspect the lawyers got into the picture by not condoning dissasembly of parts with hammer, sear and safety.

Would anyone care to help with the safety replacement proceedures

Consider the vast, and I do mean vast, aftermarket of parts and gunsmithing services for the Ruger .22.

You should find a solution to any want or need in short order through
internet searching.

Montveil: Sir go to Guntalkonline and the 'Bullseye' will answer your questions.
I can but he and his group can do it better. Also Rimfirecentral. These are eat up with .22's as 'Bullseye' is with Ruger.

Follow up when you can.

Ruger is VERY lawyer-ridden. One point - don't EVER return a gun to Ruger to be repaired with custom or aftermarket parts installed. They WILL remove those parts and return the gun to factory spec, and you won't get the parts back!
They make good guns, but their policies suck.

Place the safety half between on and off, then you can rotate it. There is a spring and detent pin under the safety, it well fly into orbit if your not careful.

Another site suggested I do this in a gallon plastic bag to recover flying pieces--sounds like that is what I will do
