| Senior Member | There is a thread on another board that is all about different sights and scopes you can put on the TOZ-78. I assume you are referring to one of the Russian optics referred to in post 24 over there? I personally just stuck some Leupold see thru rings on mine like these. ![]() And put a cheap Tasco 3-9x40 o it from Wally World. I love it so far. Tha only pic I could find of it is an ugly cell phone pic, but here it is anyway. ![]() Last edited by musicmaniac; 04-18-2008 at 06:38 PM. Reason: Picture no worky |

| Moderator ![]() | Mine wears an old RUKO 3-9X40 scope. It's a pretty good shooter, though not as tight as I had hoped. I am still debating refinishing the stock - that dye job they did is horrid! I think Ivan was drunk on the vodka when he botched the checkering too. But the rifle does have it's rough-hewn charm!

| Grumpy Old Fart ![]() | Thanks BD! I'm thinking about one. Sell for $215 here. I don't need a tacdriver, but I do want a solid shooter.

| Senior Member | I just scoped it and haven't had a chance to zero it yet. But, I know with the iron sights and my crummy eyes I could hit an empty 12 gauge shell pretty reliably. Plenty accurate for me! Best 100 bucks I ever spent on a gun. And, the only gun I have ever bought new! I do agree with BigDog about the checkering though! Goodness gracious is it a botched job! Haha! The dye job on mine isn't as bad as some of the others I have seen, though it isn't great either. I got one of the later ones that was dyed red instead of the blonde that most of them are.

| Senior Member | I've got to tell you, I love my Tula. I have a Tasco 3x9x32 Pronghorn scope on it. You know that Winchester is importing these fine rifles, changing the stock and paddle wheel sights, calling it the "Wildcat" and raising the price about $100. I paid $170 for mine scope included. When I sighted it in, at 25yds I put 15rds in a hole you could cover with a nickel. Thats tight enough for me. |

| Moderator ![]() | As fairly rough as it is by USA standards of fit&finish, I do LOVE the adjustable trigger! I wish Winchester had kept that feature, but i don't think they did. The plastic magazines work well, and the deep magwell kinda resembles our beloved Russian Mosins! I think I just need to try more brands of ammo - the guy I bought it from was getting very nice groups! I can't recall the ammo he used. Mine has the reddish finish. I will certainly strip and refinish it, eventually.

| Senior Member | I love that adjestable trigger too BD! Man, that thing can be adjusted any way you want it. I have mine set with no creep and only about 1.5 pound trigger pull. SWEET! Mine seems to like the CCI Blazer, which is nice that I don't have to spring for the Aguila or Wolf Match that I hear lots of them like. Also, its nice to hear of another one with that goofy red finish on it. Most of them that I see on the net are blondes, but I too got a red one. The finish is definitely rough, as is the checkering. But, I think the only really god-awful part of the finish is the painted on black "cap" at the front of the stock. YUCK! I can even see the red finish through the black paint they used! But, man is that gun a shooter!

| Senior Member | The only ammo I have used in any of my .22's since I was a kid is CCI Mini-Mag LR. My Tula loves the 36gr hollow-points.
