Hi all
1912 Chilean Mauser (rebored to 7.62). After extensive cleaning of the bore, I have found that the rifling is quite worn and shallow. The previous owner(s) obviously didn't give a s*** for this rifle

I have yet to shoot it...how badly will this wear affect the accuracy, and could I improve upon it by handloading 200 gn. bullets in the hope that the heavier load will help to stabilize the round in flight? Is there any other way,( besides reboring to a larger caliber, which I don't really want to do...) to "sharpen" the rifling a bit?
