Earl's thermomator made it to Oklahoma in one piece!!

UPS came up the washed out driveway, this afternoon, and delivered a thermometer to me and CGO, from Earl Easter, of G&G. We went out to the shop(I was already there), and figgered out where to put it. CGO had just washed her hair, and threatened to shoot the camera, and me, so I posed for the picture. Sorry. We wanted to share this, and are going to continue sharing what Some of the other members started. Mooseman, Marine1, and Earl, on another thread, came up with the idea of sending things to put on the walls of this little shop. So here's a picture of the first, and some other pics of how far we are. We're starting to see life in this little place, and want to share our happiness with ya'll. The first pic is me pointing at the new temperature gauge. The next two are flags that we have flown since 9/11. Then I had to pose for one at the dutch door. And the final one shows our waiting area, and the flight suit I wore in Vietnam. That thing is made of good stuff, it doesn't burn, and still looks as good as it did when they issued it to me! Wish I coulld say the same for myself! Lookin' a bit used, I am!! Thanks, Earl, we picked a good place for it!

Scotty there used to be a little restaurant outside of Tahlequah Ok where veterans/family members would bring framed military pics to be placed in the restaurant. They covered every inch of the walls. Photos all the way back to WWI. Pretty cool! Unfortunately it closed down last year. Hope to see your shop soon! SS

CGO told me where to put it, but it wouldn't fit! We talked about askin' Chris if we can put a G&G poster up, and if he says okay, it's done!

Well scotty looks like by the readings on that thar thermometer 80 degrees in the one pix, ya might need a air conditioner i have an extra so i'll send it in an envelope with instructions on how it goes back together.....LOL. It sure looks better on your wall than it did laying around the geeeeeerage at my place, enjoy and glad to help a

We're open now, for repairs and refurbishing. As soon as I find a couple of display cases, we'll put in some ammo for sale. I'm going for a distributorship with Hornady, since their ammo is so consistent, and will add some surplus, as I get it in. Already have some Russian and German ammo, that I've picked up here and there. Accessories will follow. I have a few firearms that will go into the book for sale, also.We're gettin' there, finally.I've got another Navy vet that comes up and helps out, when he's not at work. I think it's gonna be fun, and keep me off the streets! CGO took the pic of me at the dutch door, so T2K could see how I plan on using it. It props me up pretty good!LOL! Very nice! It does sound fun. I wouldn't mind doing something like that when I start aging...lol. Right now I'm thinking about joining the Marines as combat service support and specialize in Ammunition and Ordinance Disposal. That name is kinda odd as their website says it deals with being a weapons and ammo technician rather than disposing of it, but oh well. I figure with that kinda of training, I can get a security job back here and eventually get into working on firearms Still deciding on the Marines part though.

Try to go in as an armorer, if that's what you're interested in. And it would prepare you for a civvie position as a gunsmith. I learned a lot from our armorers in MCB4, they really knew their weapons!

I know what you mean! I've been trying to go thru fifty-odd firearms, and decide which to put up for sale, to make room for more. And I'm not having much luck. Each one has sentimental value, like the first time one of the kids fired a big-bore relic. I'll get it done, eventually, though, 'cause I've seen some new stuff that I couldn't touch in California!

Yeah. I have one rifle right now I would sell without a second thought if I was offered a good price. It's only because it has very little sentimental value. My 10/22 will never be sold as my Dad bought it for me as my first rifle for my 10th birthday. My SKS I never want to sell because it was my 2nd rifles and I just love it to death All I can say is look through what you have, and if you have two of something, sell the one of those you have least attachment to. But even then, I don't envy you selling them.

And armorer is exactly what I have in mind. The Marines website doesn't have a position specifically called "armorer". The closest I found was the Ammunition and Ordinance Disposal. Their description of that position is "Small arms technician, machinist, ammunition technician". At some point I'll probably contact a recruiter and see what he has to say. Then I'll need a way I can be 100% sure I'll be an armorer and not be sent into infantry or something of that sort.

Looking good, Scotty. I moved so often for most of my life that I learned to live a stripped-down life style, without a chance to collect much cool junk. But a little has piled up since I got married; I'll mosey around the place and see if there's anything appropriate I could send you.

Chuck, that "kisser" used to be numba one comshaw artist! I could talk a dog out of it's bark! T2K had to know there was a reason for that dutch door. Us oldtimers gotta have something to lean on, and it's the perfect spot. T2K, We appreciate the complement, and there's lotsa wall space left. Well, I've been out, workin' on that old S&W, and it's starting to look like a pistol again. I'm gonna hate lettin' go of it, but the owner would be unhappy if I kept it! LOL! It sure is a cute lil ole thang. I better get busy, just ordered parts and tools, and gotta pay for 'em! Be hollerin' at ya'll!
