I used the old Western Auto, 35 cent box of long rifles that were at best 1000 fps [more like 950] Back in the 60's along with shorts, longs and the CCI mini mags. I used a Mossberg bolt .22 for many groundhog kills. I have liked the hollow points but the solid point are good too.
Understand your enviroment, remember speed, mass and placement are your main concerns. You have a very good round in the CCI stingers.
You'll have fun and that a gar-ron-tee as Justin Wilson would say
