OK,

so my good friend has a ruger m77 in 204 ruger. the only thing he really uses it for is groundhogs. I am just very curious as to the exit wounds. he shoots the factory hornady 32 gr. ballistic tips.

My question is why does it exit sometimes and sometimes not? I know it probably has to do with hitting bone or not and etc. I was under the impression that the varmint bullets don't exit if they are going faster? however, he has made 4 kills on hogs this year and half of them exited. Why did the one at 320 yds not exit, btu teh one at 260 exit?? both headshots. Then the shot at 120 yards didn't exit, and the one at 150 did....I am just curious i suppose but this doesn't make a lot of sense to me. All of these were headshots besides the 150 i believe, which is probably why it exited? the exit wounds were explosive by the way.
