All The Way Newbie from MA

Hi All,

I am new to the forum and guns in general. I've been doing research on what it takes to get a LTC in Mass. I know I need to take a safety course, but I have a question about the application. Under "reason for requiring license", what do I put? Is home protection a good enough answer? How do I maximize my likelihood for approval here (or am I concerned over nothing, provided that everything else checks out)?

Thanks!
Revan

Thats a pretty crazy form they want you to fill out. Two types of LCF's, Large and Non-Large capacity. It wants you to include 2 references even. I am guessing "Second Amendment" is not going to fulfill that last question...

I would say Home and Personal protection is adequate, but what do I know? Good luck Revan, hopefully someone will have a good answer for you.

It sounds a bit like when I was in Ca. I inquired about a CCW ther, and found out that they were only good for the county you lived in, and almost impossible to acquire. I ran construction crews all over the state, and usually carried large amounts of cash, for various reasons, and decided that there was no sense in pursuing it. I just tried to be as careful as possible. Good luck on your quest, and welcome to G&G!

"Reason for Issue" is not a limitation, once the license is issued, you may carry for any lawful reason. Put all lawfull purposes on the application.
