NHM-91 question Hello everyone! I just bought my first AK. A Norinco NHM-91. Came with box, 40 rnd clip and 100 rnd Chinese drum for $500. Love the gun shoots very nice but cant stand the furniture. I bought a set that came off a Romanian supposedly and had to cut, hack, file etc to get the stock to fit in the reciever. My question to you all, is there a stock someone knows of that will fit on this gun without having to spend hours custom fitting it? I just want a standard synthetic stock with seperate pistol grip no thumb hole or dragunov type. Thanks alot guys!

I have one also, great gun. You did get a smokin deal on it I think The NHM-91's are going for around $700, and with a drum that was awsome deal. That crazy wood had to go on mine also, but I went with the Dragunov style.

After looking at much furniture for AK's and variants, I decided to take a chance and go with the Romanian folding stock I found at Cheaper Than Dirt. Not only did they have the best price on this item, they also have very nice customer service and return policy. They also said the only thing I had to worry about was the tang length, not the receiver block thickness. I was sceptical but decided to give it a try. I got it 3 days later. It fit very nice with a mallet. Zero play whatsoever. Only the screw hole on the tang lined up but seeing how I had to seat it with a mallet, I doubt it will come loose. The tang lines up nice with the block. Required no modifications or fitting. Looks very factory which is what I wanted. Going to put a Barska 4X20 SKS scope on it since I have a 19" bbl. . The folder is very nice alternative to the limited selection of stocks that will fit a NHM-91. It may also fit other Chinese 1.5mm receivers, but take that with a grain of salt! Also on this gun is a Norinco? made dovetail low profile receiver cover that I got for $12. No cant, nice tight fit. Last edited by Diatribes; 05-11-2008 at 12:05 AM. Reason: added photos

JAC- I would stay away from Florida Gunworks. A lot of people get ripped off and are just plain unhappy with them. Much better online sites. Diatribes- Nice lookin rifle. I would ditch the receiver cover mount and install a side mount with some commie optics, but that's just me. Great price also.
