Kar. check out Badger Barrels, I got there by just typing their name in my search. Click on custom barrels, then click next page. Scroll down and you will see a set of instructions for breaking in a barrel, and an explination as to why you are doing it. I think this is pretty good information. It is very important to get the oil out of the barrel before each shot. The oil gets trapped in the pores of the bore and when heated(from the shot) it turns to carbon, which you do not want.

Don't the Irish have Windex? Maybe a good ol Irish whiskey would work..

Now I love my guns, but would not waste the whiskey. I don't know exactly what they use in Ireland to clean windows, but glad to know you still can shoot at something. Why would you hunt a deer you could drive up too, on an atv, and then shoot? Ok, differant rules in differant places.

Secondly, i didn't mean to say that you'd drive up to the deer and shoot it,(that's not really fair, and it's more interesting at longer ranges) i was simply pointing out that range isn't really a problem, i've had people say "well, you'll need to be quite close to a deer and they might hear to and run away". was just anticipating that they might say that.

kar i would get a BSA 8x32 for that power of a rifle plus in the states it only costs 120 big ones it is great have one on my 223 WSSM ya won't regret it
