I just picked up a lower.

I just picked up a stripped lower, it's made by Bang Arms, a local machine shop, it's mil spec, and I've heard nothing but good things about them in the Portland area.

The bad news is on the way home, I stopped at a lake because I saw pred, and several other G&G members drowning in the water, and as I stopped to help them, my brand new receiver fell in the lake and was lost to me forever. Aww shucks.

But theoretically, if I did still have the lower, what would be a good build? I already have a carbine in .223, but I'm thinking along the lines of either another carbine with a 1:7 twist barrel, or more of a varmint style rifle. What do you guys think?

You to? I lost all 3 of my lowers in there also. My next build will be a chrome lined 1x7 upper. I still don't know yet if I'm going to stick with a flat top upper or an A2 upper. Probably a flat top, then a second build I may do an A2 commando upper.

I hope you are going to order these parts to commemorate that lost receiver.

Stitch,
you need to build a target gun now. However, you should go ahead and change your carbine barrel to a 1:7 twist while you're at it. No reason not to do both things you asked about. Check out the Dtech uppers if you're wanting a heavy barrel tack driver. I have a 243 wssm upper and love it. He offer many different calibers, among some very nice .223's.....
Welcome to the Dtech Superstore
