| Senior Member | Which AK47 for the price? Well, It's been a few decades since I bought my first Colt AR15 and could kick myself for not keeping it. Now I'm looking at a new AK47,but not sure which one is best for the money. |

| Senior Member | Cheapest around is the WASR10 by Century Arms. Will go bang every time. Also better to be able to inspect first hand for canted front sight and gas system. And one of the best around, in MHO and what I've heard people on here say, is the Yugo M70. Now remember, I said the best around based on what people here have said. If it isn't, go yell at them. lmao JK

IMHO, Arsenal AKs are the best there is (if a little pricey), especially for the milled variety. Last edited by AnaxImperator; 04-24-2008 at 08:20 PM.

| Senior Member ![]() | Yup...milled SLR101S... A little heavier but virtually no recoil...after 10 different types of AK's, settled on that one.

It's very accurate with plain iron sights, and can feed from a wide variety of magazines & drums with no wobble/fit issues. The muzzle compensator on it does an excellent job; as NRAJoe mentioned, there is very little felt recoil from it. Fit & finish on my SLR-95 is outstanding; far beyond any of the other AKs I've examined. Even though it's got a milled receiver, it is not noticably heavier than a stamped receiver AK. The thumbhole stock SLR-95's come with is very light and comfortable, 'cept a lot of folk think it's ugly. SLR-95s have appreciated in value since they were discontinued, and when they do come on the market (uncommon), I've seen them go for upwards of $800.

My slr95 is already pistol gripped with a standard buttstock...no thumbhole for me! After seeing what these go for, I am in shock. I paid half of that! It looks like these may only appreciate in value ![]()
