| Westinghouse
I was examining a Westinghouse that I am sure a couple people would remember me talking about, and I am having second thoughts about buying it. 1. It isn't matching. Not that it is a huge deal to me, but all of my other guns are... 2. The westinghouse is semi-ground off (we decided probably by the red army) You can still read New England Westinghouse and the date 1915, but I didn't know if this would hurt the value. 3. No markings on the stock. Is this typical? 4. The cyrillic on the rear sight apparatus is ground also. Not visible. The bore looks nice, however, and the wood is in good+ shape. $199 Should I be having second thoughts? hehe |

by all means buy it... about your stock question remington and new england westinghouse had cartouche 's on the rt side of the butt stock, according to 7.62x54.net the remington cartouche was more common than the westinghouse. my m-28 finn has a remington stock and butt plate and the remains of the cartouche. once you get it break it down and check the markings. every mosin tells a story

Haha ya. It sucks!!! (not that its going anywhere) But I will be there Tuesday when they open. In an hour I am going to this Surplus shooting contest at the local range. I am pumped because they tell me even if you aren't competing you will see some sweet guns! Last edited by acarpenter; 04-27-2008 at 09:06 AM. Reason: Automerged Doublepost |

Well, I checked it out, but apparently the military guns are every SECOND Sunday. Today were target .22s and other rimfires. Some very interesting paint jobs though. |
