Jumped on the sks band wagon

I have always dealed and collected AK's but never owned a sks till today, have always shot friends that thought they were a ok gun. Today in a pawn shop I stop in from time to time he had this Norinco that caught my eye, I have been looking at some off and on and this was as nice as any I have ever seen. Looks almost brand new and stock is great, barrel and bore is mirror finish. Gun has been cleaned but still had cosmo in the mag well and in the small cracks so I cleaned it up rest of the way. Cleaning kit was in the butt stock, which with that dam door that open's inward is a real finger biter *ouch* All matching numbers and shot it on the way home to make sure it worked and shot great. Gave the man his asking price of $200 for it Only thing missing is the cleaning rod but I figgure I can pick one of them up pretty easy.

Pretty rifle! Great buy! Have your palm facing up when you stick your finger in the trap door. Cleaning rod: Buymilsurp.com, Your source for military surplus.

Excellent, another convert to the dark side.

Seriously, I stayed away from SKS's for a long time but once I bought my Yugo, things changed and I wish I'd bought sooner. I now find myself stopping at every store looking for that "diamond in the rough". In fact, its renewed my East Bloc addiction. I'm in the process of spec'ing an M44 scout and would like to find a mangled SKS that I could bring myself to converting to something fun and "evil".

If you need a cleaning rod, Righteous, try contacting Collector Rifle & Ammo, Inc. in Hopewell Junction, NY. They usually have a few spare SKS cleaning rods in the store.
