This one has kept me interested.. I also have a G35 and I'm interested in another barrel so I could shoot lead rounds. I can't do that with my factory barrel, and my club's indoor range is lead only.. I'm not really interested in using the porting slot on the slide, but it's always a thought..

Also, GlockMeister, did you sell your Hurricane?

Well just got an email today stating my barrel is shipping. Hopefully will have it by Saturday, Monday at the latest... YEEEEEEEEEEEEHAAAAAAAAAAAA...

And thanks for the info danny29 and gunslinger.
So how do you both like the Storm Lakes barrels?

And paper, I only paid $122.73 for this one. It goes for $190 at Storm Lakes website...

Here >>> GlockWorld - Glock Barrels - Storm Lake, EFK, Advantage Arms, KKM Scroll down to item number 43057...

Paper, no not yet. Actually though, I sold a partially rebuilt/restored, however you want to look at it, 1973 Dodge Charger 2dr. coupe instead. So I think now I'll hang onto the bike another year at the least. Some fool called offering me $1000 less then my listed price. He says, you said best offer. And I said yea, but I'm not gonna take the first one I get. Another thing I didn't like about this guy was he said he uses NADA and not Kelly. I see why. NADA retails it for about $500 less than Kelly. Not to mention as I told the dude, that's also for a bike with like 98K miles on it. This one only had not even 12K on it. All he wanted was to geyt it as cheap as possible so he could turn around and make money on it. i finally said dude, we're done. Don;t call me again and hung up on him.

I've had this thing, will be 21years this August 15th. Looks the same, exactly the same as the day I got it. Not alot to give it away. I'll keep it first. Told my wife to just bury me on it. lol

But yea, I'm looking at what toy to get to replace the car and also looking at getting an entire reloading set-up going and who knows what else??? lol MAUHHHHH

Now I'm looking forward to your range report with this barrel.

As far as the bike, you were a bit early for our area to stick it on Craigslist.. Now would be a better time, and make sure you put it in the surrounding areas, including Rockford, Milwaukee, Madison, etc..

It'll sell for what you want, as long as it's in the correct condition and your prices isn't too high.

And yeah, there's always jokers out there who lowball you on the bikes. Ignore and move on.. The real buyer's there.. You just have to wait for him to find the ad.

Thanks for the advice Paper. I don't know if I was that early or not. No biggy. With gas prices as they are, and as they will become, motorcycles should bring a tad better premium then normal, my thinking anyhow. Maybe for the gas prices I should just keep it? lol I mean, it is paid for. Just insurance and plate sticker I save for now.

And like I said, I sold the car so I may hold onto it, maybe?

Kelly says retail value last I looked is/was, like $2145 or something and that moron told me NADA or whatever it is had it retailing for like $1600 bucks. But that price is for bikes with like 98K miles on it or more, and as I said, mine has not even 12k on it yet. But he offered me $2000. I have it listed for $3000 O.B.O. thinking if someone offered me say $2500 -$2700 I'd take it.

But now, I'm going to hang on to her, again, maybe? lol And it is correct and in mint condition. Here's a few pictures. I know, a little off topic. But my thread anyhow. lol And by the way, not bad for going on 21 years old if I do say so myself...

Storm Lake barrel came today and it looks excellent. Beautiful FIT and FINISH. Dropped right in, after cleaning it up and punning CLP down her bore first of course. Loaded a magazine a few times and hand cycled the bolt to make sure all worked well. It cycled great. Ports line up great and look perfect... Can't wait to shoot it. I'll be sure to give a range report.

Paper, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND you getting one for your G35. You WILL NOT be disappointed..

Just curious to know. As I said in my previous post. I cleaned the barrel up with a degreaser, to get all the fabricating satuff off of it, or to make sure it's off anyways. Then I did my usual firearm barrel cleaning on it as I do any other barrel.

My question now is, I know with rifle or maybe it;s certain rifle barrels, it's highly recommended that one break it in. Is there also a break in procedure for a handgun barrel? Is it even necessary? I'm hoping to go today or sometime this week and try this puppy out. So if anyone has any thoughts/feedback on this, please let me know.

I'd rather ask what might sound like a dumb question then not and find out I should have. lol

Range pictures

Well I finally got to the range today with my G35 and the new Storm Lake 4 port barrel I'd picked up for it. I took my 14 year old son with me as I usually do. More on that later. But what a difference a barrel can make and what a well made barrel it is.The flames shooting straight up from the top took a little getting use to as did the down force (correct terminology?) the ports caused. But now I understand why porting can increase ones accuracy. It helps prevent muzzle climb and makes for quicker follow up shot as the porting kept the muzzle climb to a minimum.

I'm no expert on giving range reports, so just bare with me. lol And I'll post some pictures of the targets as soon as I can.

Now, back to my son. Normally he only shoots the Taurus Tracker 6" barreled .17HMR revolver I've got. But today when I asked him if he wanted to try the G35, he surprised me and said yes as normally it's no. First time ever with anything bigger than a .17. He did pretty good for his first time out with it. He surprised me even more by saying yes when I asked him if he wanted to shoot my S&W .45. His grouping for that one was a little worse and some were all over the place, but like I told him, first time out, you did great. I didn't think he'd shoot the .45 let alone the .40S&W. I was proud of him today.

The .40S&W we shot 180gr. ammunition and the .45acp we shot 230Gr. ammunition.
He's all I have to carry on my name and pass my stuff on to and as I don't have much, I'd like to leave him what ever I have when I die. I need to know he'll be responsible and safe with them as well as take care of them. So he'll be learning to clean them as well. So shhhhh, he doesn't know that part yet... LOL

We were only shooting at 7yds./21ft. Shot them both laser and then iron sights. First off, it's only a 25yd. indoor range and as you all know and as they say, if you're ever going to be in a gun fight, that's about the distance it'll be. So we just practiced from there. For some of my shots I did move the target out to about 12-15yds. just to see how I and the firearms would do and how that new barrel did at a little farther distance.

My bad neck and back and the nerve damage I have eventually started taking it's tole on me and my shooting. Now I'm not making excuses for myself but after about the first 45 minutes to an hour, it does start affecting my shooting. I can't focus and concentrate like I did when I first got there. I start holding my breath to compensate for the pain. But all in all, we were at the range for about 3 1/2 - 4hours. So by the end, I wasn't doing as well as in the beginning.

Then on the way home my son pointed out to me that the guy I've done business with was at his new shop and today was his first day in his new building. Didn't have a Grand opening sign or anything. I'll have to ask him if he'll be having one or not? Maybe get a grand opening discount? lol I doubt it. Besides, he's always given me great pricing anyways. He was previously selling out of his basement. So we stopped in just to check out the new place. Much better then the basement. lol

Anyhow, my back is killing me at the moment. I'll post some pictures of our trip to the range later on. I'll have to cut the targets down to get them to fit the copier. Only need the areas shot anyhow.
Sorry my report isn't filled with a bunch of technical words to explain the new barrel and all. I'm not that kind of guy. Just a no frills tell it how it is kind of guy I guess? lol

I'll try and get the pictures of the targets on later on tonight. If not, tomorrow.

Okay, took some pills and some Ibuprofen and thought I'd get the pictures on while they're all working... So here they are. Oh and I wrote as much info on the targets as I could. All shots were taken standing. No bench, No rest, notta, zip, zilch. lol

Remember, that was like 25yards away free hand with a red dot. I haven't even sighted it in yet. Didn;t feel like wasting my first time in 6 months at the range sighting it in. Can always do that. It wasn't that far off from what I could tell. Had I brought a rest, I think they'd of been a tad better. lol

And I know you dislike Taurus's. But this little .17 is great. Had it about a year and a half and knock wood, no problems. Wish that little cartridge would come down in price. If even by 2 bucks I'd be happy. I mean, it's like $10-99- $12.99 depending on manufacturer. CCI/Remington brands $10.99 and $11.99 and Hornady is $12.99. Youch.

I just order a .357 barrel from TopGlock/AllGlock/Whatever. What they do not tell you is that they do not stock these barrels. The Storm Lake barrels are made AFTER you order them. AFTER the fact, when you call wondering where your stuff is at they tell you that it will take 2-4 weeks before it is made...

You get some little tiny cheesy comment at the top of your invoice that says:

Some items on this order were not available for immediate shipment. Those items are now on order: XXXXXXX

I had good luck with my purchase from Wolf Distributing a while ago. I ordered a 9mm conversion competition grade barrel for my G-22. They said 3-5 days delivery and I got it in 3 days. It dropped in perfectly with a good fit anf I couldn't believe the accuracy I achieved with this barrel. 9mm is cheaper to shoot than .40 S&W and much more fun. I can shoot more and not get as tired as fast.

My next barrel is going to be a threaded 9mm barrel. I do not like LWD barrels because of the stupid wolf logo they burn onto every barrel.
