| errrrrr... HELP!
I disassembled my new sks today and i dissaembled the recoil spring completely and now im dazed and confused. The pieces I have are the big tube that goes in the spring, the screw lookin thing that goes in the tube, the spring, and a small circular metal piece. Ive seen youtube videos on assembling it, but they all have the spring intact. I saw the assembly document on collecting and shooting surplus guns site, but its not specfic enough. Heres my dilema: 1. Which end of the tube do i put my screw looking thing into? what end of the screw do I put in first? and 2. How do I compress the spring again?? |

Take the 2 recoil spring guides large one first the fat tube with rim on bottom take the small recoil spring guide slip it inside the large one through the bottom, now put the base of the large tube onto something solid slip the recoil spring over both tube and the rod and compress it down over the large tube till the rod is exposed past the end of the spring it's a pain I know now take the recoil spring retainer cap with the small end up and slip it over the end of the rod while your holding the spring down past the end of the small rod till it fits in the slot and slowly release the tension and your done. Put some grease on it and put the kinked end into the bolt carrier ![]() ![]() Last edited by res45; 04-27-2008 at 09:48 PM. |

Bookmark that website and The Box O' Truth - Ammo Penetration Testing as they are both great and very informative sites...
