| the gun show went to a gun show this weekend in florida, like many others who posted they were going to one in there home state. WOW, it makes me wonder how some people can retain so much information about firearms, i admire there passion. Anyway was looking to get some hands on, touchy feely with a couple weapons, really liked the DPMS AR-15 M-4, much more inexpensive than colt and BM, and really seemed to have a much better finish to it, hopefully i can purchase one of those in the near furure. But what i was lloking to walk away with was another .45acp, couldn't make up my mind Glock 21 or SF XD45, traded in a S&W 909 that was about 13 years old and walked out with the XD for 295.00, i thought that was a steal......... just left the backyard very nicely made, shoots well, and a really great accessory package. Just my thoughts on the gun show and my new XD. Safe shooting to all |

| Senior Member | tmaq2: Sir; I too went to a gun show over the weekend. I found ammo for firearms that I don't even own. Crud; I bought it. 500rds Truth; I swear.I saw a Ruger Single Six .17hmr that I've been looking for yes I did![]() Priced was perfect; dadgumit; I didn't have money; dadgumit. Found a Blackhawk .41 in 6.5" and thought; if I bought this and traded for the .17hmr; then remembered yeah you're right; no money.First show that had what I thought I needed and darn it. You had a great show experience. Thanks for telling. Get your 'hanky' out for me ![]()

| Senior Member | what i hate is the closest gun show to me is only 20min away. the problem is its across state lines (boooooooo). You lose all your good prices at the larger dealer stands since many (but not all) want you to do a ffl transfer. I guess if you do a person-person it isnt that bad. What also is a hassle is up there you have to have a purchase permit. after that the closest is about an hour. |

| Senior Member | Understand tmaq2: Sir; if I understand your question. Yes I am lucky that they have one show 5minuets from me and another 20 minuets the other direction and another about 45 minuets another direction. Better yet. One company C&E the other Dixie: Sometimes between the two we have 3- in a month withing 40 minuets of me. You will see more and get a better feel for what is going on. One has some of the collector i.e. Mosin vintage; one more the regular type. What we try and do is go to different areas. We have gone 2.5hrs one direction; Greenville, SC, to Hickory, NC 1hr another and plan a trip 2.5hr. to Fayetteville, NC. Each area has different feel, Each has some locals showing their stuff. The Best was at Columbia, SC. Met G&G member; and this was a "gun show" larger bumbling into one another, Much Much stuff I like people and this was over the top Keep your money at home until you get a feel of ?what? YOU ?think? is the way you want to go with the Hunting/Hobby of the shooting sport. Follow up with your thinking and thanks

| Senior Member | I have 2 gunshows within 20 min of me, between the two I dont have to wait more than 2 months for a show. Also the cheyann wells machine gun shoot is next week its 120 miles or so away, but thats how far I have to travel to get away from civilization, big cities are a double edged sword. |

| Sadly I had to fore go this weekends gunshow due to stresses at home, that and a lack of funds seemed to make it a moot point maybe next month... Good finds though guys have fun!

| Senior Member | Columbia ander254: Sir; I haven't been to the "Temple" yet. This was at the fairground. The best true 'gunshow' that I've been to. The thing in Spartenburg had very little by comparison. The "Temple" has a poor to very poor rating among the folks that have responded to some of my query's. With that kind of reference I'll pass on the "Temple" ander254; next Columbia; lets meet up and go ezearln: Sir; if I had two nickles to rub together I had to have borrowed them![]() Get me out and about. Met a couple of G&G members at Columbia and that in itself made a difference
