| Excel Arms ever heard of 'em?
Has anyone ever heard of Excel Arms? They're based in Chino,Ca.. Anyhow, I doing some internet searching about 5 yrs. ago when I first ran across them. Back then, they only had one and one option with it. Now they have quite a few choices and I'm still extremely interested in getting one. It's on my wish list anyhow. Welcome to Excel Arms Check out the Accelerator pistols and rifles. In fact, here's a GunBlast.com review on the .22 pistol, Excel Arms .22 Magnum Model MP-22 Accelerator Auto Pistol It does look a little like the the AMT Automag, which I read at gunblast via the link in the Excel article is back into production. Not a bad choice either I might add. So, has anyone ever had or even shot one? How about any of you California G&G members; You happen to have visited the company before and at least check them out?

Please bear in mind that the yahoos at gunblast (nevermind the braided beard and spaghetti bicep(gay?)ed 50yr old fella that lives with his brother) collect free guns. For unbiased reports visit rimfirecentral.com |

Well to be honest, don't most that review guns get them free to review? I mean, you don;t think guns n ammo pays for any they review? I'm sure many get them free. I did not know some, in this case gunblast, kept them. Wonder if they all get to? I'm sure someone takes them home. In fact, remembering a comment one of the guys on the American Rifleman show made, I think they get them free also, same with Shooting USA. Jim sure has a couple safes full of them...I'm sure his son, John, who's now getting involved and ready to take his place ( I think ) has and will also. lol But what do/did you think about it alaskamonte?

| Excel firearms GlockMeister I have an Excel firearm have had it for 25 or 30 yrs.Bought it and several other firearms from gentleman that I worked with. But don't know anything about them. |

that I'd heard of Excel imports alot of guns, but doesn't neccesarily manufacture them. I may be wrong. |

|  Excel Arms? I made the mistake of purchasing one of their guns ( the AP-22 w/.17 barrel also). This gun jammed almost every time I pulled the trigger. I must have ran four or five hundred rounds through the 22 mag barrel and it took me forever to get that many through it. Then I tried the .17 HMR barrel and it was the same but the rounds didn't hang on the ramp as with the 22mag barrel they just didn't have the back pressure required from the weight of the bullet to rack the action back far enough to eject the spent case. The pistol is at the factory right now and I am not pleased with it. I put a note in the box describing the ammo used for their tech department to figure out what is wrong with it. I won't send it back the second time for repairs.... only for refund. Quote:

Concealed .40, hello and welcome to G&G. As for your experience, I'll most definately take it into consideration. I'm not yet sure I'll take a chance or anything nor was I even at the time I posted it. Which was one reason I did post, to try and find out what I could. Please keep me/us informed as to how it is when you get it back and how the companies customer service/tech. depts. were/are. Also, I'd be curious to know if maybe it was a problem with something internal that happened maybe during the manufacturing process? I'm not sure how many of them they make at a time. Be curious to know if there was lets say a burr on a part or something like that which caused one part then another part to cause the problem/s? Give it a chance. Sometimes things have problems. You sound like me, I have this gee, just my luck thing that always seems to happen to me. Example. I bought a Brand new Ruger New Model Blackhawk in .45colt, got it home and cleaned it with some CLP I've used for years. Next thing I knew, the bluing came off the spur side of the cylinder. My FFL sent it back at her cost to her wholesaler who in turn sent out another one. Got this one home only to find/discover it had a blemish under the bluing, in the finish on the top strap. See picture/s below. Then just recently, I bought/ordered a Sightron Scope to go on a Ruger 10/22. It arrives and on the underside of the objective lens, there are a few specks or particles, whatever they are or you or anyone wants to call them. At this time, and not sure if they ever will, but they don't interfere with using it and they aren't at this time in the the line of sight or can't be seen when viewing as I said. I spent $148.94 for the scope and a set of Burris 1" medium Zee rings. What bothers me, I checked out a NCStar scope, same 3-9X40mm, and it was only $32.95, and it had the same clarity and finish as this one. But the difference besides price, the Sightron has Japanese glass and the NCStar has Chinese glass. So I'm asking myself, should I have just gotten the NCStar? And if I had, and it had this problem, I could have simply driven to the gun store and exchanged it or checked it out before I bought it. This one, I bought over the internet. But I put it under the category of, JUST MY LUCK. lol So you're not alone... Just Excel a chance and who knows, you just might be as happy as a pig in mud when you get it back. I'd like to know how long it took/takes also?

I was looking at the Accelerator pistols in a magazine a few years ago and really thought I would like to get one. They had ones in .22 magnum and .17 hmr . I really wanted one that is.....until I actually saw one at a local gun shop. I instantly stopped wanting one when I held it. The thing that turned me off was that they are "really BIG for their size"! I was expecting something about the size of a Ruger mkII or a Buckmark but this thing was more the size of a .475 Wildey mag. Anyways way too cumbersome in my mind for a .22 or .17 caliber pistol. The funny thing I saw a few of their carbines at a gun show and they seem rather compact. Go figure.  |
