| Loads for 7.7
I've read that the .312 bullet is more accurate than the .311 in my Arisaka 99. Anyone load the .312 or have any load data to share? According to Chuck Hawks you can push a sierra 150 sp at 2700 with 45.6grs of IMR 3031. |

I recently bought a 7.7 and I don't know anything about the gun type. Although I llike the light weight feel and the style of sights, I am finding it very dificult to get ammo anywhere. I'm not a real gun enthusiast, but my kids like to go from time to time. So I don't really know a lot about guns. But, I would like to come up with some ammo to use it this season when I take my son deer hunting.

| Ammo for the 7.7
I have two Arisakas, a Jinsen and a Nagoya, I think it's a Nagoya. I went thru the ammo problem. There is custom loaded ammo around but expensive. Then I decided to reload. I found some Govt. once fired 30.06, bought a set of 7.7 Jap Lee dies and tried to resize the 06 cases into 7.7 but the dies just weren't up to the job. Huntington had the 7.7 Norma brass and I bought 100 @ .48 each and a can of IMR 4064. It's an easy round to load and once fired you just neck resize the cases, as long as you use the same rifle. I also have a Mosin Nagant M38 and a SMLE No.1 MKIII* but the Arisakas are my favorites.
