Well, buying from reputable dealers online isn't that bad. Some of them will take the items back if they are not suitable for you. Or you can most likely sell them for what you paid for them, or more.

Go to all the web sites and see what is available at what price!! I have bought from many of them and have had good results only one I wasnt happy with and he made it right. so doubt you will have a problem with buying

I live in the northeast, and I've never even seen a "Big 5." I got all but one of my Mosins at gun shows. The single exception is an unissued Polish M44 that I found languishing in a gun shop.

I agree about online shopping. No matter how reputable the dealer is, there's no substitute for handling the gun yourself and finding out exactly how it looks and feels to you before plunking down your money.

We are talking about rifles that cost less than $90 for the most part, so the risk is pretty small. I have bought from AIM, J&G, SOG, and 111, and all have been just fine (with info and enlightenment from Moose, Steve, and Tex). I have bought a couple from Big 5 as well. None of these guys want's an unhappy customer. When in doubt ask for handpicked and tell them what you are looking for.
