Boltaction 20ga

I bought a Numrich mag that appeard to hold 2 rounds but doesent the second round squeezes in about 5/6th's the way in but badly smashes down on the mag spring, I guess the idea is to have 1 round in the chamber and one in the mag?
a 2 shot shotgun instead of 3?
