My Chi-Com SKS used to shoot MOA with anything I could stuff in it, but I traded it off like a dumba**! I've heard some really good things about the bolt-action CZ's as well.

You can get a 7.62x39 upper for the ar-15 platform. I'm sure it will shoot MOA or better. ![]() You may be able to get a saiga to shoot moa with a better trigger and match ammo. |

| Well, . . . .
. . . . you are most likely venturing into the area of having a custom barrel on a bolt action. Also, you will be into the area of handloading to a precise level. First, search the web for custom barrel builders then open up a discussion on actions, prices, and delivery times. Next you will need the proper gunsmith to mate the barrel and the action plus do some stockwork on the stock designed for the action. What you want can be done but it will not be off the shelf. |

Here ya go, custom made rifle, but I think they make bolt actions similar to it in that round: VC HomePage Personally, I want to try to get some of those subsonic rounds loaded up and try 'em in my AES-10. I realize there will be noise from the gas piston vent, but I'm thinking I could temporarily put a hose clamp around there to seal them off while shooting the subsonic rounds.

The 7.62X39mm round is not a target round. It is a good round but MOA, maybe out of a high dollar gun.

You could get a CZ Carbine and handload, not much for bullet variety though

This can be done and usually accomplished by using a custom barrel in .308 bore dia.. The selection of match grade bullets is great .in .308 bore, compared to the standard .311.Usually the twist runs 1in12",but shorter barrels and hotter powder in 1in10" twist is definitly a consideration if using bolt action that will handle the higher pressures. sam.

I have heard great things about the CZ carbine. I've handled but never shot one. If I had the money, I'd buy one. You can always check out an Thompson Encore or possibly and H&R. The link works for me. |

You need to pay attention to bore dia though, apparently ruger chambered the 39 but made the bore a .308 dia whish isn't what most cheap commie bulk is. The good people at CZ informed me the 527 has the standard SKS AK type rifle bore dia of .311. Of course this means homebrewing.

Would it be worth it to pick up an AR chambered for 7.62x39?
