And now to revise my revision...

Give them all hand grenades, tell them to throw the pin and hold the grenade :-D

When you have an Army made up of guys who think flush toilets are damned near magic the you need simple and reliable.
If the deal includes Military Advisors then go with the M-14, the help you get would be more inclusive and you'll get plenty of free aid with the guns.
yeah
AK's
if they cant spell gun why give them a more complicated weapon?

i would use the ak47, based on very low cost of weapon, the dependability, ease of training the troops to use the rifle, easier to clean, the cost & availability of the ammo is lower. the amount of ammo the troops can carry is greater because of the size of the round. THE AK ROUND IS POWERFUL ENOUGH UP TO 300 METERS. THE .308 TO 1000 METERS.

also the size of the rifle is much smaller than the fal, i happen to have both & the size of the people in the banana republic, is much smaller so the fal is too big for the troops. the reason that the m-14 was taken out of U.S. service was that it was to big & cumbersome in vietnamn. the ammo is too powerful for that kind of war, so with
the disadvantages & the cost factored in, it makes the ak the smartest choice.

BUT POLITICIANS DON'T USUALLY MAKE THE BEST CHOICES.

Are you taking politics into account? Like NATO standards and what not? Then again i guess any gun can be chambered for any round.
