My shooting buddy had a SA for his first M1911. It never grouped well. Had a couple other problems too - in a brand new gun! He traded it for a Rock Island and is happy - shoots much better.
Had he taken the SA to a good 'smith, it could've been put right I'm sure - but my buddy doesn't like dealing with 'smiths - the only local guy that's good is also very slow - has a backlog you wouldn't believe!
